I wrote this prayer to God on my behalf because I’ve found that when I pray for myself, I feel like I’m asking God for too much or I feel like I’m treating Him like a genie in a bottle who is just there to grant me anything I want. I felt selfish, but I know that God wanted me to tell him what was on my mind even though he already knew. So when I wrote to Him a prayer for me in this way, it doesn’t feel selfish anymore.

Dear Lord,

I’m praying for this girl named Via. Lord, she longs for you; she has a heart for you, but she doesn’t live within you. I pray that as she seeks you, she will remain in you, as you remain in her (John 15:4). I pray that you will reveal more of your characteristics to her as she looks for you in the Bible to grow more intimate with you. Replace the broken pieces of her heart with the fullness of your heart, as you take down her emotional walls. Help her to love being in your presence with music, without music, in silence, & in chaos. Thank you Lord in advance for your victory, thank you for your friendship, & faithfulness. For keeping all your promises. Thank you for the comfort you will bring her as you take down her walls. Thank you, Lord.

         Sincerely, Via

Thanks to training camp for encouraging me to sit with the Lord in a different way, it truly helped me rely on the Lord more. If you have ever felt like I did I encourage you to write a prayer to the Lord like this.
